I learned that there are so many more detailed parts that go into a movie. Often times when I am thinking about a movie or a short film I am thinking about it as one singular thing. Where as the fact of the matter is that there is a sound clip, multiple video clips, transitions, and so much more that goes into one movie. I also learned different techniques you can use when trying to create a movie.

What was easy?

This project was a lot easier just because a lot of it was taking new skills we’ve learned over the semester and combining them together to make one project. I think that this project also allowed people to attack it in many different ways.

What was challenging?

I think the hardest part was just putting everything together to make one flowing movie. You know you have things that are right for the movie like a sound bit, video clip, and some sort of flashing text that hits the screen, but you have to figure out the best way they mesh together. That was the hardest part for me was putting all the different moving parts to make one.

How could your submission be improved?

I think that we could have created a more cohesive movie. I think that some of my clips were kind of scattered where as I would have liked to see them more interconnected.

How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?

I think that this was a great project to end on because it allows students the freedom to create what they want while also using multiple different skills they have learned throughout the semester.

How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?

I think that I could use this in commercial real estate with virtual tours of an office space or building. There are a lot of brokers now that will make videos of a space so potential buyers can get a quick idea of what the space may look like.

How did a specific reading or video found outside of class inspire or help you?

I think the example video that you provided the class with was helpful. I know before we got into this project I was worried that we were going to have to make some crazy movie with actors and a story line, but seeing the video took the weight off my shoulders.

I learned that designing a small world let alone a video game is very detail oriented and most times difficult. Learning about lighting and the use of lighting I thought was interesting and useful even though creating the world lighting wasn’t a center point.

What was easy?

This project was easy to enjoy once you got the ball rolling. There were a lot of frustrating moments dealing with this project, but all said in done it was fun to create your own world then go run around within the world itself.

What was challenging?

I struggled with making adjustments to one thing without effecting the other pieces around it. It seemed to be a continuous problem where I could get to the right angle in order to design one individual piece of the world.

How could your submission be improved?

I think that I could have made the lakes within my world look a little more real. As well as making the path a little more interesting at points even though there is only so much you can do to a dirt path to make it interesting.

How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?

I think that it was a good project that had some technical issues that can only be fixed by doing the project multiple times. I think the class as a whole ran into some unfortunate luck when dealing with the work in progress day.

How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?

I think that this could help me turn my ideas into something physical. For example if I wanted to design a house or something else to build I could look into using this software to better help me design and envision my idea.

How did a specific reading or video found outside of class inspire or help you?

I knew I wanted to create a world that share similar qualities of Colorado. So I made sure that there were a lot of mountains and unique land formations. I wanted it to be interesting for the player although all they are doing is walking around the world so I tried my best to build a world that I would find interest in adventuring.

What did you learn?

I learned how to design and create a website using figma. I also learned the little things like how to design a nice looking functional website with pages that make it an enjoyable and easy experience using the site.

What was easy?

This project as a whole wasn’t to challenging I thought that everything I did wasn’t too complex. It was more moving things around to make sure it looks good.

What was challenging?

The most challenging part was finding the best way to make the typing on top of my big back screen photo be visible. I did have the idea of putting the light gray rectangle behind the typing, but didn’t realize that I could make it fade with the background enough to where you can read the typing as well as not completely ruining the background picture.

How could your submission be improved?

I think that I could have taken better advantage to the length of each pages. I know on my social page I was able to fit everything I wanted, but I could have extended it and spaced out my photos a lot more.

How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?

I think this was a good project. I like how it brought back all these other labs/projects to apply in project 2. It is really cool that we have the opportunity to make these websites ours and possibly even something we use in future endeavors.

How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?

I think that having the knowledge and ability to create a functional website is an amazing skill to have. In case find myself wanting to start my own company or a side hustle I will have the ability to build a website for my customers to visit.

How did a specific reading or video found outside of class inspire or help you?

Earlier this year in my Digital marketing class we learned how to build a landing page. We didn’t do as much design as we did for project 2, but I learned how to build a visually pleasing and easy to use website.

Within photoshop I learned different techniques to edit photos in many different ways. With these techniques I have learned that I can create a lot of different things such as this project, a holiday card.

What was easy?

I thought that it was easy once I got the hang of the standard tools within Photoshop. I will say that photoshop is pretty complicated and honestly intimidating trying to use everything that photoshop has to offer.

What was challenging?

Like I said above photoshop is such an advanced app that it does get very challenging the more you use it.

How could your submission be improved?

I think that I could have blended the Elk horns in with the background a bit better on the front. I probably could have added some more wording and pictures, but I like the more simplistic approach which is what I tried to do.

How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?

I think the assignment was good. I think that it gave students the ability to grasp the more simpler tools of photoshop as well as the chance to play around with the app and figure out what works and what doesn’t.

How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?

I think that using photoshop could come in handy when editing photo’s. I also learned some skills about graphic design that could come in hand when making business cards, logo, and other business worthy things.

How did a specific reading or video found outside of class  inspire or help you?

I didn’t really run into any readings or videos that inspired me. It was more memories from past experiences in using photoshop that inspired and excited me to try different things within photoshop.
