I learned how useful it is to have a colour pallet while working on different stamps as it helped to give the stamp a theme as well as narrow down one’s colour options to those select colours and their shades

2. What was easy?

Coming up with the design for my tourist attraction stamp was easy for me as the Statue of Liberty is a staple within New York City and there were multiple good-quality photos to choose from.

3. What was challenging?

It was challenging to figure out how to get the cent sign on my stamps

4. How could your submission be improved?

I think my submission could be improved by having more variety in the layout of my words, with them at different angles.

5. How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?

The professor could improve the assignment by allowing us to do one theme (sports of tourist attractions) and then have each stamp as that theme but at a different location in the world. 

6. How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?

I am going to use my knowledge of spacial awareness in regard to design particularly my rule of thirds in future assignments and work scenarios.

7. How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you?

Re-watching the zoom classes as well as the youtube videos which you included within the slideshows, as well as past stamps which I had seen inspired me in my work. 

For my tourist attraction stamp, I used the Jacques Francois Shadow font along with Inter Semi Bold and Inter Light fonts. I chose those fonts because when I think of the Statue of Liberty I consider it to be a basic necessity that everyone must go see while in New York City. 

For my history stamp, I used Halant, Inria Serif, and Iceland fonts. I choose those fonts because I believe that all three of them are the type of fonts that one would see while looking at letters written in history. 

For my food stamp, I used IM FELL English SC, IM FELL French Canon, and IM FELLDouble Pica SC fonts. I chose those fonts because they all reminded me of fonts which would be used in a menu on the page which entails all the details about their pizzas. 

For my sports stamp, I used Londrina Sketch, JejuHallasan, and Henny Penny fonts. I chose those fonts because I believe that they display an array of emotion which is encountered at sporting events such as hockey game.  

I learned about the strategy that comes along with the placement of words while doing typography. 

2. What was easy?

Rotating the words 90 degrees, clockwise as well as counterclockwise was the easiest part for me and I felt like the difference between rotating it counterclockwise and clockwise added another element to my designs. 

3. What was challenging?

The most challenging part for me was coming up with different designs for my slides that had the same lines as I just kept thinking about the slide I had done prior with the same words. 

4. How could your submission be improved?

I think having some of my words written from top to bottom not only having my words written from left to right and then rotated would have improved my submission. 

5.  How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?

I think giving students the opportunity to change their nursery rhyme from the first project that we had submitted would have improved the assignment as I faced the same challenge of coming up with different designs for slides which were a repeating line within the nursery rhyme that I had chosen 

6.  How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?

Having gained the knowledge of the impact of the different boldness of the text has on an image will be applied in my future work and assignments as I can see from my work how the different boldness attracts your eyes to certain words more than others. 

7. How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you?

Rewatching all of the zoom classes where you used a variety of variations when combining words, rotating them and using different typefaces.

I learned about the impact that a combination of photos can have on what the image is trying to express to the viewers.  

2. What was easy?

I think it was easy to remove the background from pictures as it was a very straightforward process. 

3. What was challenging?

The challenging part was figuring out what metaphor I would be able to express in a combination of pictures. Originally I had chosen a different metaphor but I had to change it because I was unable to think of a combination of images which would do the metaphor justice 

4. How could your submission be improved?

I think my submission could be improved by combining more images and having a more visually pleasing base picture. 

5. How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?

The professor could have improved the assignment by giving us a list of metaphors that would be easily interpreted to create a combination of pictures to express the metaphor. 

6. How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?

In this assignment, I explored the effects that Figma offers to influence a photo, one of the main ones which I used was the darker option in the portion of the layer as I believe that that really helped my project. I also envision myself using the remove background plugin in the future when I am only concerned with the main thing in an image. 

7. How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you?

Rewatching all of the zoom classes which used a variety of tools on Figma and photoshop. 

1. What did you learn?

I learned that the creative process takes a lot longer and a lot more thinking than I had originally thought.  I came to the realization that it’s a process which includes working on the project for a while then taking a step back, doing another task and then reapproaching the task with a fresh set of eyes which brings a new element to one’s design.

2. What was easy? 

I found it easy to come up with my first landscape as I could choose any set of colours that I wanted to as they then fit into one of the colour schemes which I had to follow. 

3. What was challenging?

 The most challenging part for me was coming up with colours which I believed would fit my landscapes appropriately based on the colour schemes that I had left once I had already finished two of my landscapes. 

4. How could your submission be improved?

I think my submission could be improved by choosing to use different colour schemes on different landscapes as I feel like I should have used a different colour scheme on my Seascape landscape which I believe would have impacted all of my landscapes in a positive way.

5. How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?

I think the professor could possibly give us a creative landscape where we choose what the landscape would entail as well as what colour scheme we wanted to use. 

6. How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?

I am going to apply this knowledge in my future assignments by planning what I am going to do within my project first before starting my project in a digital way. That way I have a plan to follow which I think will lead to a more well-rounded project and I would have a smoother transition while designing each slide digitally 

7. How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you?

Rewatching our recorded classes helped me the most as I was able to fully understand how to union shapes as well as change the gradient and other basic tools which I believe elevated my project to a level which I do not think I could have reached had I not had access to the recorder zoom classes.
