What did you learn? For one, I did learn about infographics and how maps can be an example of one. I learned how to use the live paint tool which can color specific sections of a composition. Lastly I learned how to make a banner using simple shapes.

2. What was easy? Something that was easy was creating the banner for the name of the town. Another thing I found easy was finding a place to do my map on. I knew I wanted to do that location because it was small and had many points of interest.

3. What was challenging? I don’t think anything was really challenge in this project. It was more tedious than anything because of the pen tool which I would mess up sometimes and I would have to redo a street all over again. Other than that it was easy and straightforward.

4. How could your submission be improved? I think my submission could be improved by adding more points of interest. My map looks kind of empty and adding some more buildings to it would help it look more complete.

5. How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class? An improvement that could be made to the assignment would be to go into more detail with the instructions.

6. How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios? I can use what I learned in this project to create more infographics and for other types not just maps. I now am well versed in Illustrator which will help me when I need to use it for something like an infographic.

7. How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you? I don’t think a video really inspired me during this project. It was more my own experiences and imagination that inspired me to make this infographic.

Project 3 ../../../2021/05/25/project-3/ ../../../2021/05/25/project-3/#respond Tue, 25 May 2021 20:10:16 +0000 https://comdma.com/dejan/?p=16 Continue reading Project 3]]> 1. What did you learn? I learned how arrange aspects of a package design. I also learned how to outline a bitmap logo and make a vector logo out of it.

2. What was easy? The easy part was arranging all the layers in the package design. Adding type and drawing a cup were also pretty easy. The last thing that was easy was importing the logo into the file.

3. What was challenging? The challenging part was tracing over the logo and making it a vector. Another challenging part was getting my printer to print the package design.

4. How could your submission be improved? I could definitely improve my submission by folding the printed package design but problems with my printer have prevented me from doing so.

5. How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class? I think the assignment was pretty challenging, however the videos and google slides presentations helped a little bit.

6. How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios? I learned a lot about illustrator in this project like how to create a vector logo which will be helpful in a career in this field. I also learned how to design a package which is probably in high demand in this day and age.

7. How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you? The thing that helped me the most was the PowerPoint slides. Each slide had simple and straight to the point directions. I also would say I got a lot of inspiration from the PowerPoint.

Project 2 ../../../2021/05/25/project-2/ ../../../2021/05/25/project-2/#respond Tue, 25 May 2021 19:46:56 +0000 https://comdma.com/dejan/?p=13 Continue reading Project 2]]> 1. What did you learn? I learned a lot of new things with this project. The first thing I learned was how to create a texture from an existing photo. Another thing I learned is how to use the pen tool to create a layer shape on one of my images.

2. What was easy? Something I found easy was scaling the images so they fit on the screen and placing them in a way so they don’t look crowded.

3. What was challenging? The challenging part of this project for me was using the pen tool. It is very awkward to use at first and I kept messing up the shape. Eventually I got it and it turned out decent.

4. How could your submission be improved? I think the submission could be improved by finding better ways to incorporate the elements of the composition. Alone all the aspects look good but together, there could be better ways to arrange them.

5. How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class? I personally had no problems with the assignment, it was straightforward and at the same time allowed for some creativity to show with this composition.

6. How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios? I could apply this knowledge to create unique and diverse backgrounds by use textures from images. I could also use this knowledge to make a collage of images and arrange them so they look aesthetically pleasing.

7. How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you? I think the videos the professor made for the class went pretty in depth and it was not hard to follow along. I took many aspects from the video and applied them to my work in different ways.

Project 1 ../../../2021/05/25/project-1/ ../../../2021/05/25/project-1/#respond Tue, 25 May 2021 19:24:07 +0000 https://comdma.com/dejan/?p=7 Continue reading Project 1]]> 1. What did you learn? I learned how to touch up images and make them look better. I did this by using a variety of tools such as the iris blur tool.

2. What was easy? The easy part was touching up the images to make them look cleaner. Another easy part was creating a portfolio in InDesign which showcased the pictures.

3. What was challenging? I didn’t really find anything in this project challenging. I just thought it was a bit tedious going through and touching every picture up.

4. How could your submission be improved? I think it could be improved by taking better pictures as some of the pictures did not come out the way I would’ve liked.

5. How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class? I don’t think there was anything wrong or hard about the assignment. If I had to say, it would be to show more options on how to touch up images.

6. How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios? The knowledge I now posses will allow me to do work with anything involving pictures of something where they need to altered or touched up. It will also allow me to create or portfolios of pictures which I didn’t know how to do beforehand.

7. How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you? I think the project 1 in depth PowerPoint did help to clarify some things about the project that I was unsure of. This as well as the class videos helped me to think of ideas of what I wanted to the theme to be and what I wanted to take pictures of.

Lab 1 ../../../2021/02/15/lab-1/ ../../../2021/02/15/lab-1/#respond Mon, 15 Feb 2021 19:26:24 +0000 https://comdma.com/dejan/?p=4 Continue reading Lab 1]]> The photo I took looks much more amateur. The background looks sloppy and the photo quality isn’t the the best either. The image I acquired from Unsplash looks like a professional took the photo. The photo has a better background and overall looks cleaner with a higher resolution.

I could not preform the scans of the other photos.

I could improve the quality of the images by using a better camera and by having a better background to take the photos with.
