What Did You Learn?

For the first time in this class, I had some prior knowledge of the software we were using. But I still learned a lot more like how to use transitions and effects. I also learned how to add music from a different software into premier pro which is valuable knowledge for different projects I may do in the future. I like the use of transitions and effects, so learning that there were so many different ones was also valuable and I appreciate learning that.

What Was Easy?

The easiest part of this project was moving my video files to premier pro, and editing my clips. I have prior knowledge of arranging clips and cutting them, so I found this part of the project perfect and easy to move through.

What Was Challenging?

The most challenging part was figuring out an effect on a clip that would work well. I found that most of the effects were overbearing, and just too much, so I tried to edit a bunch of setting to change it, and just couldn’t totally figure it out. I did get some help from a classmate tho, and I did find one that I could use, and be happy with.

How Could Your Submission Be Improved?

I feel really happy with the product I made, and wouldn’t change very many things about it. A few things I would change in the future were the number of transitions I used. I was kind of experimenting when I was using them, and after the fact realized it may be too many. Just makes the transitions look sloppy because they weren’t consistent. Also, the music isn’t great for my emotion, so could potentially change the emotion I would use.

How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?

I feel the assignment slides were perfect and explained well. I didn’t find many issues with how to arrange them or complete the instructions. Think it worked well.

How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?

Video editing/Moviemaking can be used in the future when making portfolios or other projects, and each and everything I learned can be used. Biggest thing I can use is the animated titles that I made. I feel like this is a practical usage, and can be found in many fields.

How did a specific reading or video found outside of class inspire or help you?

I watched a youtube video on the best tips for premier pro. This video went over in simple words the nest ways to utilize the software, which directly influenced my final project.
