    1. I learned the basics of Figma and how to use it to make a mobile app interface mock-up
    2. The project required the making of designs for buttons and their colors. Figuring out a combination of colors for the layout was fairly easy.
    3. Making the buttons function properly in the “presentation” mode of the project was difficult, as pointing either button to a new screen layered more difficulty onto the objective.
    4. I would imagine making the components for the header and footer would save time in trying to remake every single screen of the mock-up.
    5. I believe allowing the use of code to make this assignment function in its totality would benefit in teaching how one should properly create a working “To Do” app. I also believe the instructions of the google slide for each individual factor of the project could afford elaboration, as I felt more surprises or discoveries were being made outside of the tutorial’s instructions, and said instructions were not being updated in real time.
    6. I could apply this idea of a layout to any potential app I attempt to make in the future.
    7. Seeing similar “To Do” apps’ layouts helped to give me an idea on what to do with my own.

    1. I learned how to build a website and use an A.I. tool to help organize the code.
    2. The project had a balance of difficulty and ease, with writing the code itself being the difficult part and constructing the website being the easier part.
    3. The challenge came from figuring out what may be a problem with whatever code I write, as some line would work as intended while others would not.
    4. I would imagine if I could figure out more accurately what my fault was in the code I written, I would be more satisfied with the result.
    5. When it comes to writing code for websites, I know now a basic idea of how to do it myself or for others.
    6. Videos pertaining to the layout of websites helped to formulate an idea for how I want my website to look myself.

    • I had learned how to use Figma to manage overlays with video files
    • This was not easy, as the process which to set up the overlays to work together is tedious.
    • The challenge came from trying to understand the process itself, as managing overlays in other programs requires a “appear on timestamp” and “disappear on timestamp” in the same option. Figma does not have this.
    • Perhaps if the functionality “open overlay” and “close overlay” could be improved, I would be able to seamlessly switch the frames of each text block to keep from stacking them on the same screen
    • I advise using a different program to emulate augmented reality, as Figma makes the process needlessly confusing compared to other options
    • I would understand the value of having proper placement of text and frames to emulate a similar AR experience
    • A specific example in class gave me a clearer idea or goal for what my project should look like

  • The Joy of Creation

    The Joy of Creation

I do not find it easy to declare an art piece “perfect,” or lacking in anything I may dislike or deem unpolished. This piece in particular encapsulates a very important mantra I follow as an artist. “The Joy of Creation.” I like to let those four words speak for themselves about the idea and the purpose of the phrase itself and the associated piece.

  • Untitled post 151

A harpy-esque character that uses a soft shading and highlighting technique I had recently learned at the time of first making this piece.

  • A College Club’s Logo

    A College Club’s Logo

I made this as a way to create a logo with only text, or select pieces to be specific icons in different scenarios. The character’s head for a basic logo, the “D” for a lettered logo, or just the letters and mouth as a letter-based title/logo. I wanted this design to be as flexible as possible.
I may update this to increase the thickness of the letters and mouth’s lines.

  • A Shroud of Trees

    A Shroud of Trees

An attempt to make a background-based picture that features rigid leaves for the trees and small, gray and blue stones to litter the opening.

  • Deep-Sea Monster Design

    Deep-Sea Monster Design

An attempt to make a sort of black tar/gelatin based creature with metallic bones that are loosely connected within the main shape.

  • Abstract Deep-Sea Design

    Abstract Deep-Sea Design

An attempt at making a deep-sea design that incorporates bubbles of tar or oil. Ultimately a proof of concept for a different piece of art.
