Throughout this project, I learned a great deal of Adobe Illustrator skills that can be useful in the future. It was easy to come up with my idea through a few inspirational monogram sites as well as my own brainstorming. This could be challenging at times since it was my first time using this program so it was a great deal of trial and error while rewatching many lectures and helpful critiques. I believe my submission would be improved by better spacing options for text in the case of vertical alignment, I got it as close as possible but it could always be more symmetric. For next year I think maybe you could do more initial basic skills videos on how to do various things but I think over the course of a few classes while you edited others, it helped me improve my knowledge and skills within the program, many of the tools you used on others projects I was able to implement on my own project. As basic of an answer as this sounds this can be extremely useful when I have my own practice or future job that requires a business card. I can also use my skills to create a company card or a business card for a friend. This is an extremely useful tool for the future. I have always drawn the H in my name with a tab to the left after my 3rd-grade teacher wrote my name that way and I liked it at the time and now it just kind of stuck. So while scrolling through google and dribble I found a similar monogram that was able to incorporate that idea. I also had some inspiration from Herb Lubalin’s logo that had the intertwined swirls to create the letters which I really liked. Over all aspects from various portions of my inspiration research combined with my personal creative ideas helps me to form my logo which I ultimately love for my first time using the program and creating my own business card.
