• What did you learn?
  For this project, I learned how to use InDesign to format text.

• What was easy?
  The easiest part of this assignment was researching the history of Garamond typefaces

• What was challenging?
  The most difficult part of this assignment was figuring out how to format the information on the page.

• How could your submission be improved?
  I feel that the italics toward the bottom of the poster are a bit too large and draw too much attention.

• How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?
  I feel that the assignment works well as it is.

• How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?
  This assignment has taught me various methods of organizing large amounts of text. This knowledge will be very helpful for future projects that involve text.

For this project I wanted to use less saturated and lighter colors to match the lighter aesthetic of the creamer. I added the white to the pattern in the back because I wanted it to look like the creamer was going down the sides of the packaging. This also helped to neatly separate the blues and the pinks and make the pattern look a bit less chaotic. Overall, this resulted in a very simple design which I feel fits nicely with the concept of the product as well as Elmhurst’s already existing branding.

In this project, I learned how to create patterns in Illustrator.

The easiest part of the project was coming up with the metaphor.

The most difficult part of the project was fusing the images in photoshop.

My submission could be improved by making the images blend together a little more seamlessly.

The assignment could be improved in the future by providing a selection of metaphors to choose from.

I will apply the knowledge I gained about photoshop to future projects.

One article that inspired me for this project was the Design Shack article entitled “10 Reasons Why the Best Design Is Invisible”.This article taught me that some of the best design choices are the aspects of a piece that the viewer wouldn’t even know were changed.
