I learned how to create a mini film with a combination of pictures and videos.

2. What was easy?

The easiest part was putting the videos together. I was being super extra trying to add a whole bunch of videos so that it looked nicer.

3. What was challenging?

The challenging part was trying to find videos for a minute long film. Another challenging thing was tracing the animation because I was trying to be very meticulous but it came out nice.

4. How could your submission be improved?

I would improve my submission by fixing my audio. I had to loop my audio because it was not long enough.

5. How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?

The professor’s directions were really clear and helpful.

6. How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?

I can apply my knowledge of filmmaking to make a video. Although it was a strenous task I think it is something I would definitely do again.

Throughout this project, I learned how to sculpt a chess piece from 3D mesh using Blender. It was different because at first, it was unclear how a simple piece of mesh was going to turn into a 3D figure.

2. What was easy?

The easiest part of the project for me was changing the color of my chess piece. I went for a blue-colored chess piece. I also found adding texture to the chess piece was fairly easy.

3. What was challenging?

I feel like navigating with the bezier tool was a little challenging. I kept trying to visualize the chess piece but it definitely was not easy, but I was able to get the hang of it.

4. How could your submission be improved?

I feel as though my submission would have been a little better had I experimented more with creating a nicer chess piece. I was really hesitant with tweaking the image of the chess piece because I did not want to mess it up; however, I could’ve gone for a unique look.

5. How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?

I feel as though the professor could improve the assignment by posting directions for both Maya and Blender. I ended up using Blender and found it easier but I went to get help from Dr. Dunkle.

6. How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?

I feel as though I could apply the knowledge of 3D sculpting by using it as a hobby. Personally, my field of study is Computer Science, and I do not foresee myself using it, but it would be super cool hobby.

I learned how to make a monogram to place on the business card. I also colored my monogram to go for a distinctive look. When making the monogram I was very torn about how I wanted my letters to be positioned and in Figma, I was able to play around with the letters to make it look nice.

2. What was easy?

The easiest part was changing the color of my monogram. Originally, when I did my monogram it was plain and white but I spiced it up a bit and made it black with a nice aqua color and I kept the theme consistent.

3. What was challenging?

It was a little challenging making the business card on Figma. The instructions were for Illustrator, and the functions were different; however, I was able to manage and create a nice business card.

4. How could your submission be improved?

My submission could have been improved if I found a better way to combine my initials “TAJ”. I had a pretty difficult time trying to combine them. When I changed the color the “J” was overlapping on the “A”, making it look less neat. If I had the “A” overlap the “J” and cut the curve on the “J” it would improve the appearance.

5. How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?

The professor could provide tutorials for both Illustrator and Figma, because it would have been easier for me to follow. The professor was very helpful when I came to office hours and walked me through the project.

6. How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?

I definitely can apply my knowledge of making a business card to my future career because I can create my own business card. With practice, I can improve my design monogram and offer help to other people with making business cards for their own businesses.
