This assignment was designed for me to apply what we’ve gone over in class concerning gestalt principles and establishing contrast. I was having a hard time from the start since my inexperience with visual arts put me in a sort of creative block. I struggled with picking a poem longer than I should have because I was so clueless as to how I could represent the stanzas with such a limited toolkit. I pulled through but I don’t know if I’m really proud of anything I’ve made here. I guess it helps to get a grasp on the fundamentals. Even still I don’t think I have a complete, cohesive grasp on how to utilize these principles and methods to their full potential.

Despite intuitively knowing how flawed these images are, I can’t think of any way to improve upon the current product without outright scrapping a few of the frames. All I can do for now is continue to learn and get a sense for some of my design habits, both good and bad. I hope I can eventually make something I actually feel proud of.
