  • What did you learn?
  • I learned how to more effectively color my projects, and work towards telling a story in a picture without saying a single word.
  • What was easy?
  • Designing the backdrop and color schemes.
  • What was challenging?
  • Figuring out how to properly light the scene, to really make the colors pop in a realistic way.
  • How could your submission be improved?
  • Maybe with more featured items? The other planets, the entire solar system in the distance, etc.
  • How could I improve the assignment for the next class?
  • Maybe allow other sources besides photographic images, creativity is best when not limited to 1 outlet.
  • How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?
  • Creating enticing environments that tell their own story or have something to say for themselves. Working on this project gave me insight on how to move forward with an idea of using images to portray a metaphor like this.
  • How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you?
  • Didn’t really find videos or readings helpful. I pondered a few ideas, including my “The Knight in White” idea where a doctor resembles a Knight in shining armor with his white cloak, a shield mask, and a needle sword, fighting off the pandemic. But the idea was too complex and offered me very little room to work around it without messing up the original vision. So i decided to go with the basics, and start small, and simple.

    1. What did I learn? – Not much, have been working with color schemes and color patterns for quite some time.
    2. What was easy? – This entire lab.
    3. What was challenging? – Deciding what to do with the Playground.
    4. How could my submission be improved? – maybe more defining colors.
    5. How could the assignment be improved for the next class? – Maybe more of a challenge?
    6. How might I apply my knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios? – I have a batter understanding of how to use color schemes more effectively.
    7. How did a specific reading or video inspire/help me? – The reading for this assignment helped me understand each of the types of color coordination such as Analogous and Triadic.

    Reflection:

What did I learn? – I got more familiar with how Figma itself works and learned how to use each tool properly to create different designs.

What was easy? – The entire project. When it came to the second set of six however I was unsure of some details, so I simply made it a more clear depiction of the abstract.

What was challenging? – Figuring out how I wanted to tell the story of Humpty Dumpty in abstract.

How could my submission be improved? – Probably more complex/in depth work on the normal telling of the tale.

How could I improve the assignment for the next class? – Maybe make it a little more clear on what is to be expected, and not limit the tales to 6 line poem style typed things.

How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios? – I know how to use Figma to a greater detail.

How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you? – Looking at the older presentations of students and reviewing Gestalt themes helped me make the abstract look more natural than a forced abstract.
