I learned how to edit videos on Adobe Premier, make a soundtrack on SoundTrap, and how to make a title page with Adobe After Effects.

2. What was easy?

Filming the video was the easiest part and making the music soundtrack that matches the vibe of the film you shot. It was easy to find the primary thing I wanted to film, it could be anything I wanted to film and I enjoyed exploring what I wanted my video to be about. It was also exciting to make a song that matched what I wanted to capture what the video was about.

3. What was challenging?

Making the video was hard, I tried importing my videos into my thawspace from my phone but some of my videos never showed from my phone library. When I tried sending them through email, it either took more than 5 minutes exporting and sending a 15 second video or the computer said that whatever I tried to send was too big to be sent through Gmail. So I had to make do with what videos I was actually able to get.

4. How could your submission be improved?

My submission could be improved by better editing and also a better song. Again, some of my videos never even showed up so I couldn’t get my video to be the right length or use some of the footage I shot that I thought would look good in my video. Also, when I imported my song some parts of the sound came out weird and no matter what I tried in SoundTrap and not make my sound sound different , it didn’t work.

5. How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?

Everything the professor did was great.

6. How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?

I think this is an interesting project that’ll help if I ever try to do anything with video editing. In my major digital media is involved in everything we do, so this will come in handy some time.

7. How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you?

I looked up on YouTube how to animate my font on Adobe After Effects, some of the tutorials weren’t for beginners at all, but the video I found manage to explain how to do what I did very easily.

8. Post images of your work.

Project 3: Game Design ../2023/03/30/project-3-game-design/ Thu, 30 Mar 2023 19:36:10 +0000 https://comdma.com/mitcheli/?p=21 1.What did you learn?

I learned how to use the software Maya and Unreal to make a realistic 3rd person game. Everything I learned in this project was interesting like how to make items in Maya then export them into Unreal, how to build a realistic game in Unreal, and how to make textures and export them into Unreal.

2. What was easy?

After figuring out what I wanted to build it was easy to put all the parts together to try and make a realistic looking coffee shop. Making the texture and importing it to my game was also pretty easy, adding it to my counter inside the shop just adds another cool element in this project.

3.What was challenging?

I tried to make some elements you would see in a normal coffee shop like a counter, coffee machine or even cups but when I attempted to make something in Maya it was really difficult to make anything. I just ended up using the pre-made items in Unreal instead.

4. How could your submission be improved?

If I had more time to learn the program Maya, I could’ve made some more realistic items that a coffee shop would have and make it look better.

5. How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?

I would suggest spending more time teaching Maya so we could learn how to make more items to export them into our game.

6. how might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?

If I wanted to do game design both these programs would came in handy to do something like that.

7. How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you?

I looked up videos on how to change colors and textures I used in my furniture items.

Project 2: Web Design ../2023/03/07/project-2-web-design/ Tue, 07 Mar 2023 20:40:53 +0000 https://comdma.com/mitcheli/?p=15 1.What did you learn?

I learned how to use the website Figma. It’s a really cool website that I could see myself using many times in the future for different projects or even in my career. I want to be a UI designer and Figma has so many amazing tools for designing, I am excited to continue using this site.

2. What was easy?

After creating the initial design, and having a basic understanding of what you want your design to look like, it was all pretty easy. Creating the color palette, deciding the typography, and creating the header and footer was all pretty simple.

3. What was challenging?

The challenging part was creating the interactions that you could click on and it’ll take you to another page. Also creating the hyperlinks was hard to understand at first. But after I memorized how to do it, it was really easy to do again.

4. How could your submission be improved?

I could have had a better color palette, I think I used too much of that beige-ish yellow but I didn’t want to use white in my design.

5. How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?

This assignment is good as is.

6. How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?

Figma is a really fun site to use, I honestly see myself using this even if it’s not for work or school, but just to play around with. A UI designer needs tools like this to make cooler and more interactive site designs so I really do see myself using this in the future.

7. How did a specific reading or video inspire or help you?

I used the Figma help site a lot to see how to do things on Figma. Like how to round out the edges of my photos and shapes, flatten texts and other various things I wanted to do to make my website look better.

Valentine’s Day Card Project ../2023/02/28/valentines-day-card-project/ Tue, 28 Feb 2023 19:35:56 +0000 https://comdma.com/mitcheli/?p=9
  • What did I learn?
  • I learned how to navigate photoshop and how to use basic tools. the tool I used the most in this project is the selecting certain images in a photo and copy & paste onto my own project. I learned that there are a lot of websites that give out free images to use as you like.

    1. What was easy?

The only thing that was easy was making the text box and picking out the font.

    1. What was challenging?

Everything else was hard, adding the ruler guide lines, deciding which words to use, picking which artwork to put into the card and what works well with each other. Even trying to remember which shortcuts to zoom out was difficult.

    1. How could your submission be improved?

Everything about this card could be approved. the words I chose, the pictures I used and just making everything look more cohesive and put together.

    1. How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?

the assignment was easy but one thing that maybe can be improved is making a sort of vision board or have a clear cut vision of what you want on your card before you actually put the card together. I feel like if I had one day to make a clear vision of what I wanted on my card I would’ve designed it better.

    1. How might you apply your knowledge in the future assignment or work scenarios?

Getting familiar with adobe photoshop is really important so I will be using everything I learned in this project and apply it to all other projects or work I have that involve adobe photoshop.

    1. How did a specific reading or video or help you?

The video on how to make a text wrapped around a path was easy to follow.
