I learned a completely new skill with this project. I have never used any software like Maya or Unity before and I was able to create a chess piece and a game. I believe that this project was the hardest one so far. The software is very hard to navigate and control. I did not know what to do without the online videos and help from the professor. I believe I could have refined my mountains so the edges weren’t raised. I believe the project could be improved by avoiding downloading the extra packages because they were very confusing and a lot of people did not understand them. I now have a better understanding of this software that I could use as a foundation in the future. I used the demos in class as inspiration for my final project.

I learned a lot about coding and how a website is designed and built for others consumption. I think that the project was easy because Figma was very user friendly but I still struggled with some of the pages. It was also a bit hard to upload my personal images. I think my submission could be improved with more of my own personal images and add more information on my home page. I think the project could be improved by having more freedom for each student in terms of the content of the pages. I can use this in the future to create a page for my photography or other art adventures. I was inspired by the website of famous artists but I wanted to make sure my personality showed through each page.

This project taught me new ways to do some things I already knew how to do within Photoshop. I learned many different ways to remove the background of a foreground image and ways to fix errors made while removing the background. I learned new shortcuts that made the process much easier and allowed me to keep working without switching tools. I became more efficient at doing repetitive tasks and was able to explore some different tools that were not required for the project. I thought this project was relatively easy once the day’s demonstration was done. The additional directions on the slides helped clear up any misunderstandings as well. I could improve my greeting card by making the layer mask for foreground images more accurate. There were a few places that I could not distinguish between the foreground and background of an image. I think for a future assignment this project could be improved by having students create their own imagery out of other photos or using different photoshop tools. I read about photomontage and it gave me the idea to add more than one flower on the inside and to layer them with an outer glow effect. I think this made it more interesting to look at.
