Project 4 ../2022/12/10/project-4/ Sat, 10 Dec 2022 22:07:08 +0000 https://comdma.com/nykamps/?p=29 What did you learn?

I learned how to use Soundtrap to create a soundtrack for a video.

What was easy?

Using Premiere was pretty easy, I’m pretty used to working with it and understand it rather well.

What was challenging?

Coming up with a prompt for the film was probably the most challenging part. Creating a soundtrack that worked was also difficult.

How could your submission be improved?

The colorgrade could have been a bit better, as well with the sound design.

How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?

There didn’t seem to be much direction for this project, I was pretty confused with the expectations, I think more creative freedom would have been fun.

How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?

Now I understand how to create soundtracks, this could be very helpful

How did a specific reading or video found outside of class  inspire or help you?

I didn’t really use anything outside of class because I had quite a bit of prior knowledge with Premiere and After Effects.

Project 3 ../2022/12/01/project-3/ Thu, 01 Dec 2022 18:39:04 +0000 https://comdma.com/nykamps/?p=26 What did you learn?

I learned how to roughly navigate through Unity, and utilize its tools to create a little world in any way I want. I also then learned how to add a character, and then have the ability to explore through the world.

What was easy?

I wouldn’t say much was easy, the easiest part was probably exporting the project, it was pretty straightforward.

What was challenging?

Navigating through Unity was very difficult for me, the tools and layout seemed pretty foreign, I struggled to move around through my world while creating it a bit.

How could your submission be improved?

I think I could probably add some more to the world, use different landscape assets, maybe add some waterfalls or something.

How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class?

I lost one of my projects, and there were a lot of issues starting up Unity, accessing old projects, and exporting, maybe some better explanations about those parts of the project would be nice. Also though, Unity did seem a little bit unpredictable, so I feel like there isn’t much the professor could have done to prevent these issues.

How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?

Well now I know how to create 3d objects in Unity, I’m sure I could utilize that skill quite a bit whether that be with animation, or just for fun.

How did a specific reading or video found outside of class  inspire or help you?

I don’t think I really used anything outside of class, I just followed the slides, and if I found any problems, I would try to troubleshoot it myself.

Project 2 ../2022/10/28/project-2/ Fri, 28 Oct 2022 17:07:37 +0000 https://comdma.com/nykamps/?p=16 Samuel’s Website

Here is my website that I made using Figma to show my portfolio and resume.

Reflection

  1. While working on this project I learned how to use Figma, I also learned a bit about web design, how to make things look appealing, and how to link buttons to pages and different websites.
  2. None of it was really easy, it took quite a bit of time to learn how to do everything. I think the easiest part was probably writing my portfolio because I was able to base it off of my other websites portfolio.
  3. The design was pretty difficult for me, it took me awhile to get a look I enjoyed, and even after that, lots of changes still took place.
  4. I think I could maybe add more to my socials page, but I wasn’t really sure what to add since I only use Instagram and Youtube for my work.
  5. I think you could maybe explain the linking buttons to pages and making different assets a little bit better. I feel like we could have used more of this program, but we also didn’t have much time so it is understandable.
  6. I honestly might use this for my main website after a few changes. I know how to use Figma now, and it could be really useful in the line of work I want to go into.
  7. I was really interested in turning some of my work into gifs since I am a videographer and wanted to showcase my work. I watched a video on turning videos into gifs and then importing them into Figma, which I found very helpful.

Project 1 ../2022/09/01/hello-world/ ../2022/09/01/hello-world/#comments Thu, 01 Sep 2022 23:42:13 +0000 https://comdma.com/nykamps/?p=1
  • What did you learn? I learned how to design and print a card using photoshop and adobe acrobat.
  • What was easy? The photoshop was pretty easy for me, I’m pretty familiar with the workflow in photoshop, and mostly comfortable with it.
  • What was challenging? Learning adobe acrobat was a bit difficult, it definitely took me a few tries before I printed correctly.
  • How could your submission be improved? I definitely could have done a better job cutting it out, but I was very rushed for time.
  • How could the professor improve the assignment for the next class? I think we definitely could have gone through the unit a bit faster, and with more allowed creativity.
  • How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios? I now know how to print cards, and understand a lot more about printing and different types of paper. If I ever need to use this skill, I understand it now.
  • How did a specific reading or video found outside of class inspire or help you? I used some youtube videos while using photoshop to help me understand some of the tools.
