I took all the film and composed the soundtrack myself.

Project 4 Reflection

  1. While working on this project, I learned how to edit a film with Adobe Premiere Pro.
  2. The easy part of this project was taking the videos. Walking through the cemetery was relaxing, and experimenting with camera angles was fun.
  3. The challenging part of the project was timing the soundtrack to match the video.
  4. My submission could be improved by incorporating more camera angles and different types of shots.
  5. The professor could improve the assignment by giving everyone the same footage so people have to rely more on editing and the soundtrack to give it the desired emotion.
  6. I can apply the experience I gained in Premiere and Soundtrap to make my own videos and soundtracks for other projects. I also learned how to synchronize videos and soundtracks.
  7. I had to look up how to take screenshots for the blog on the DMA lab computers!

Project 3: GTA 6 ../2022/12/01/project-3-gta-6/ Thu, 01 Dec 2022 07:04:36 +0000 https://comdma.com/piwkof/?p=25 I used Unity to make a video game!

Project 2 Reflection

  1. While working on this project, I learned how to build a landscape and insert a playable character in the Unity game engine.
  2. The easy part of this project was making the landscape. Painting textures and sculpting the landscape was a lot of fun!
  3. The challenging part of the project was rigging the lighting to be just right and give the game a proper feel.
  4. My submission could be improved by incorporating more assets and giving the player more objectives to work towards.
  5. The professor could improve the assignment by updating the technical instructions on the powerpoint for the latest Unity version.
  6. I can apply the experience I gained in Unity towards other 3D modeling projects in the future, such as making models in Blender. Learning how to move around and orient myself in a 3D modeling program was especially helpful.
  7. I had to look up how to install the latest Unity driver, because the Unity Hub app on my computer was having technical issues.

Project 2: Fred.gov ../2022/10/27/project-2-fred-gov/ Thu, 27 Oct 2022 05:53:10 +0000 https://comdma.com/piwkof/?p=17 I made a website on Figma to showcase my resume and portfolio!

Check it out at this link!

Initial sketches

Project 2 Reflection

  1. While working on this project, I learned how to use the prototyping features of Figma to make objects interactive.
  2. The easy part of this project was choosing a theme for the fifth page. I love photography and showing people my photos, so I knew that I wanted my website to have a photo gallery.
  3. The challenging part of the project was choosing the fonts to use. I couldn’t figure out how to preview fonts available on Figma, so I had to click through the list until I settled on good ones.
  4. My submission could be improved by incorporating more interactive features that are available on Figma.
  5. The professor could improve the assignment by giving us the option to tell an interactive story via Figma.
  6. I can apply this newfound Figma experience in the future if I want to make my own website for professional reasons or to publish art. I may also want to play around with writing an interactive click-through story.
  7. I had to look up how to find my Instagram link to share! This helped me link my Instagram profile to the Instagram icon on my website footer.

Project 1: Holiday Card Photoshop ../2022/10/06/project-1-holiday-card-photoshop/ Thu, 06 Oct 2022 05:11:23 +0000 https://comdma.com/piwkof/?p=8

Project Reflection

  1. While working on this project, I learned how to use layer masks in Photoshop. They came in handy when hiding messages in the text on the candy hearts!
  2. The easy part of the project was choosing a theme and designing the card. I work out ideas in my sketchbook first before even opening Photoshop.
  3. The challenging part of the project was isolating the images I used from their original backgrounds. The fur was a pain.
  4. My submission could be improved by adding a cheesy Valentine’s Day poem to the inside of the card.
  5. The professor could improve the assignment by encouraging us to think outside the box and make up our own holiday! Extra points if we can convince someone that the bs holiday actually exists by giving them our card.
  6. I can apply this newfound Photoshop experience when making advertisements for Canisius Zoological Society, a club that I am a leader of. I can also make cards for my friends in the future instead of buying generic greeting cards from a store.
  7. I had to look up on youtube how to make text appear rough around the edges, which enabled me to make my candy heart text look more realistic.
