What did I learn?

I always wanted to learn how youtubers make their videos. Adobe Premiere Pro is the most popular software on the market which most of the creators use so being able to know how it works was the biggest achievement I made from this project. Also, I was able to make my own music via Garage Band. I still remember around 2012 when I had Garage Band installed on my phone but not being able to use it since I didn’t knew how to. This project helped me create my own genre of music and to use it for my video in this project.

What was easier and difficult on this project?

I found making music to be easier as well as the most fun part of the project. Also, using different effects for the clips and compiling them were pretty easy for me. The hardest part of the project was to edit the video according to the music I had chose. It was very difficult to choose the clips that matched my music. Also the final product took a very long time to complete but I now know the basics of how to create a proper video which can help me later on in my career.

Can any improvements be made on my video?

Yes most definitely. It was the month of November so there wasn’t enough time for me to travel to different places to capture matching content for my videos. My videos ended up being raw and depicted a normal everyday scenario. I think the only part that can be improved on my video in this project is the content.

How will this project help me in the future?

Not only this project but the entire course helped me immensely to learn about multiple Adobe softwares which I wanted to learn since many years. Being able to make my own game, learn how to edit pictures, make my own music, videos, resume, etc. was a massive win for me as I now know the basic skills on how to become a good editor. This will be the first step of my professional career if I choose DMA as my career path and also be helpful for me if I decide to make my own You tube channel.

This project required us to make a quick maze game. It consists of an FPS player which needs to solve a maze and get the coin which is on the end part of it.

What did I learn?

I learned how to create terrain and add layers to it. I also learned many cool features like locating a starting point for the player, designing a creative maze inside the terrain and use animation after the player gets the coin. This project wasn’t extremely difficult but it will surely pave the way for my future endeavors with video game designing.

What was the easy and difficult part of the project?

Designing the maze seemed to be a fun part for me. We were given lots of options to choose and design the maze. The ending part seemed a little tougher as I was finding it difficult to execute my program properly and it definitely needed some time sorting the codes out.

Can my submission be improved?

My submission can definitely be improved as we were not extremely focused on making this a standout masterpiece. It was a simple project and I am still a beginner. With more time and experience, this project can definitely improve later on.

How will this project help me in future?

As it is very clear to me that making video games interests me a lot as I am one of the biggest fans of them when playing it. I would love to know more about the other side of things knowing how people actually make all these fascinating graphics, characters, animation and stories. This project is just a start but will definitely help me a lot on my future objectives.

For project 2, we were told to design a website that gives an insight of our resume. It was a fun task to do as I was able to know new things on how to use and edit the website using brackets.

• What did I learn?
  • I learned a lot about how to use codes, HTML, Brackets, and also a small idea about web design along with a proper knowledge on how to build a decent resume.
• What was the easy part?
  • Choosing proper fonts and the colors for the resume. I found inserting texts for our resume inside the codes to be easy too.
• What was the challenging part?
  • I had never designed a website before. Getting to know how to insert a logo, putting it in a perfect manner and using the perfect font size relative to the logo and resume was a bit challenging. I was a bit lost using brackets in the beginning but as I soon got used to it, I knew how to get things right.
• How can my submission be improved?
  • If my experience with Brackets and coding was a bit more, my overall project would have been even better if it’s not right now. The aesthetics of my logo and the resume is nice, but I totally understand for some who don’t prefer the design as eye-catching. My resume content is related to hacking so I went on to use bright colors and a different style of Logo.
• How will this project help you in the future?
  • Making a resume is not a one time thing. It will be for many years to come. This project will definitely help my future resumes look less bland and more appealing as I am able to design it in a more creative way,

I actually have a decent experience on making videos since I make tutorial videos for the college but I never had an opportunity to play with softwares like Photoshop, Illustrator and In-design. I always wanted to know how these programs work and wanted to create something for my own personal use. In this project, I learnt how get familiar with different tools to edit, copy/paste pictures and make different types of cards. I was able to learn how to use the Lasso tool, write texts on the artboard in different shapes and styles, remove background images, add layer masks, and tons of other cool stuff. This project also helped me explore new fonts and download them from website such as Google Fonts which was a cool way to add something fresh for my card. I was also able to learn how to print using Adobe Acrobat Pro as well as download stunning images for my card from the website ‘unsplash’. This process wasn’t that difficult but needed a lot of thinking and time as it demands creativity.

For me, the most challenging part was to find the exact picture that matches my idea and how I want to demonstrate my card. It took me a lot of time but eventually, I was able to find it. I found snapping the edges of the image to make a selection the easiest as I enjoyed while doing it.

I would like to improve on designing my card even better next time but I don’t think improvement is necessary as this project demands creativity and everyone has their own unique way of showing it.

This assignment is great for starters. It doesn’t demand crazy skills and knowledge which many would’ve found difficult to improvise. I would love to use the techniques that I learnt in this project and implement them for the future videos which I’ll be making for my personal use and professionally for the college. Being able to re-watch the tutorials which we learnt in the class at home also helped me a lot as it made me recall some of the tools which I forgot how to use in the class. Overall, I am satisfied with my final product and having a project which helps you explore your thoughts and ideas is always a good thing to learn.
