- What did you learn?
I learned the basics of figma and how to use it.
- What was easy?
I’ve used a to do app before and wished it had certain features. Creating my own to do app with these features in mind made the app easy to create.
- What was challenging?
Trying to come up with a logo and name for the app. Most of the time the app was labeled as “placeholder title” and I couldn’t think of anything clever. On the day the queen of England died, I had an idea to use a royalty theme inspired by my colors. A bit morbid I know, but inspiration can come from anywhere. I called it ThinKing, and designed a logo to reflect the new royal aesthetic.
- How could your submission be improved?
I wish I stylized it even more than I did. Fancy patterns reflecting royalty would help the app stand out a bit more. It would also make it look less bland
- How could I improve the assignment for the next class?
There’s not much to improve upon. For a basic app, this was a fun project I enjoyed and it let me understand how to use figma.
- How might you apply your knowledge in future assignments or work scenarios?
Try to find inspiration from anywhere, even on bad days. Trying to make a positive out of a negative scenario can be a complex task that pays off.
